Khatib and Alami similarly flag seasonal surges during Hajj and Umrah, emphasizing the need for adequate supply for millions of pilgrims. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s hosting of IDWS 2026 in Jeddah from December 7-9, 2026, under the Saudi Water Authority is framed as part of a broader effort to shape water innovation and standards. Together, these signals point to a system strategy: produce, store, move, reuse, and manage demand with better forecasting and coordination.
